July 19 2025 The Dublin Leprechauns defeated the Martinez Sturgeon 6-1, using a four-run third inning and a sixth-inning insurance run to pull away. Dublin outhit Martinez 8-5 and held the Sturgeon to one run in the third inning.
Abraham De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a walk for Dublin, while Chris Alfonseca also collected two hits and scored once. Dylan Leek, Sam Ott and Jojo Barfield each drove in a run. Martinez’s Tyler Best and Jackson Kea each had two hits, with Drew Bayard recording the Sturgeon’s lone RBI.
Ott earned the win while contributing on both sides of the ball, allowing five hits and one earned run over seven innings with five strikeouts and no walks. Josue Rivera completed the victory with two hitless, scoreless innings and four strikeouts.
Martinez starter Danny Sullivan took the loss after allowing six runs, two earned, on six hits in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out nine and walked two, while William Merriott, Dustin Hernandez and Myles Rothfarb combined for 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief.
