May 25 2025 The Martinez Sturgeon defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 9-6 after jumping to an early lead at Waterfront Park. Martinez scored eight runs in the first inning and added another in the second to take a 9-0 advantage. Dublin answered with four runs in the fourth, but the Sturgeon held on as the Leprechauns added single runs in the eighth and ninth innings.
Andrew Curran led Martinez with two hits, three RBI and a home run. Wataru Kumagai went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a double, while Harrison Treble also collected three hits. Tyler Best drove in two runs, scored once and drew two walks. Martinez finished with 12 hits and eight walks.
Dublin totaled 10 hits, with Drew Bayard, Damone Hale and Juan Zorola collecting two hits apiece. Hale drove in two runs, while Zorola added two RBI. Kaleb King earned the win for Martinez after allowing four runs on four hits in five innings with six strikeouts. Connor Caporale took the loss for Dublin, surrendering nine runs, seven earned, on nine hits in three innings. Martinez pitchers recorded 15 strikeouts overall.
