July 21 2024 The Vallejo Seaweed defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 13-8 after building an early lead and holding off Dublin’s late push. Vallejo scored in each of the first four innings, taking a 10-2 advantage, then added three runs in the seventh. Dublin scored four times in the fifth and twice in the ninth but could not complete the comeback.
Vallejo collected nine hits and was led by M. Nunes, who hit a home run and drove in three runs. H. Paulino added two hits and three RBIs, while Trey Fletcher had two hits, scored twice and drove in two. M. Nunes and I. Brown each scored twice. Dublin had 13 hits, including four from A. Stayte, who scored three runs. D. Gardiner and N. Ciszak each recorded two RBIs.
Francisco Leon earned the win for Vallejo after allowing six runs on 10 hits in eight innings, with four walks and five strikeouts. I. Horn worked the ninth. Dante Hatchett took the loss for Dublin, surrendering five runs, four earned, on three hits in two innings. K. McDowell and N. Antony also pitched in relief for Dublin, which committed two errors while Vallejo finished without an error.
