July 6 2024 The Vallejo Seaweed defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 12-11 in a 12-inning game at Wilson Park. Vallejo collected 20 hits and overcame 16 hits by Dublin, with the Seaweed scoring the deciding run in the bottom of the 12th inning. Dublin committed four errors while Vallejo made two.
Dublin built leads with three runs in the first inning, four in the third, two in the fourth and one in the fifth. Vallejo answered with two runs in the second, two in the third and four in the fifth before adding single runs in the sixth, seventh, 11th and 12th innings. The Leprechauns tied the game with a run in the top of the 11th, but Vallejo scored again in the bottom half and finished the comeback in the 12th.
Vallejo third baseman C. Drain went 5-for-6 with three runs, three RBI and a home run. T. Fletcher added four hits and two runs, while I. Brown had two hits, two runs and one RBI. T. Fitzpatrick contributed a home run and three RBI, and H. Paulino and A. Harper each drove in a run.
Dublin received three-hit performances from A. Stayte, D. Gardiner and T. Bridges. Gardiner scored three runs and drove in two, while Stayte had two runs and one RBI. Dublin starter C. McCoy allowed 13 hits and eight earned runs in five innings. Vallejos Matthew Lazcano earned the win after pitching a scoreless inning with one strikeout, and Dublins Makano Fo took the loss after allowing one run in 1 1/3 innings.
