June 10 2024 The Dublin Leprechauns defeated the Martinez Sturgeon 15-5 after scoring in six different innings and finishing with 12 hits. Dublin jumped ahead 3-0 in the first inning and added four runs in the third to take a 7-0 lead. Martinez answered with three runs in the fourth and one in the fifth, but Dublin scored twice in the fourth and added three runs in the seventh to pull away.
Aaron Stayte led Dublin with two hits, two runs, four RBI and three walks, including a home run. J. Williams collected two hits and scored three runs, while Donnie Gardiner scored four times and drove in two runs. C. Evans added two hits and two RBI, and F. Ogami and J. Ford each contributed two RBI. Dublin also received home runs from T. Bridges and J. Ford according to the batting summary.
Martinez managed 10 hits, led by T. Best, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one RBI and a home run. T. Riley went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI, while J. Rivera hit a home run and drove in two runs. The Sturgeon committed three errors.
Gardiner earned the win after allowing one run on four hits in four innings with four strikeouts and no walks. Dante Hatchett worked the first four innings for Dublin, allowing four earned runs on five hits while striking out five. J. Williams finished with a scoreless inning and two strikeouts. Caleb Natov took the loss for Martinez after giving up seven runs six earned on three hits and seven walks in three innings.
